Role overview

As a HR Business Partner, you will act as a strategic and tactical partner to the business, ensuring the alignment of the people strategy with the overall business objectives. You will be instrumental in fostering a positive and engaging work environment through employee engagement initiatives and effective workforce planning. Your role involves collaborating closely with Divisional Directors and Regional Managers to enhance leadership capabilities, drive performance, and support change management efforts. By leveraging data and insights, you will develop people-based solutions that address business challenges, promote diversity and inclusion, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations. Ultimately, your contributions will enhance employee satisfaction, retention, and productivity, positioning the company as an employer of choice and a great place to work.

 
This role will be a Maternity Cover until Jan 2026. 
 
Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver the HR divisional plan to align the wider HR strategy and people priorities with the commercial strategy.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are consistently applied across all retail locations.
  • Manage and resolve tier 3 employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant employment laws.
  • Regularly analyse business and people metrics to drive people activity and influence decision-making.
  • Collaborate with divisional directors and regional managers to assess staffing needs and ensure optimal workforce levels during peak and off-peak seasons.
  • Work with the reward team to ensure competitive pay and benefits packages for all employees are offered, and compliance with the company pay policy.
  • Analyse turnover rates and develop strategies to improve employee retention within retail stores, focussing on our retail attrition rate and optometrist headcount.
  • Provide coaching and partnership to managers across stores and the support centre.
  • Implement employee engagement programs tailored to retail staff, focusing on motivation, recognition, and retention to increase our overall eNPS scores. Partner with Talent Acquisition to develop innovative recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team on talent and succession discussions, strategically mapping future talent pipelines.
  • Work with the global HR function as necessary to facilitate inter-banner talent moves, and participation of global initiatives
