Do you have a passion for creating, delivering and managing development programmes? Are you an Optom fancying a change from your day to day?

We’re looking for a Professional Development Specialist to support the development and progression of our Pre-Registration Optometrists and our Newly Qualified Optometrists.

This is hybrid role with 2-3 days based in our store support office in Ruddington.

What can you expect from the role?

You’ll play a vital role in shaping the capability of our future Optometrist population. Your work will enable the ongoing development of those just starting out in their roles.

In this role you will manage the personal and professional development of Pre-Reg Optoms and Tutors from a training perspective. Whilst doing so, you will continually develop and embrace different training methods to enhance our Professional Trainee Programmes in line with the College of Optometrist Scheme for Registration.

Using your hands on knowledge, skills and experience you’ll act as a beacon of knowledge to support the business through the likes of store visits to provide clinical support to Pre-Reg Optoms and Newly Qualified Optoms alike. As well as this, you will guide the supervisor population on how to get the best out of there new colleagues, provide them the best support and how best to engage them.

About you

We’re ultimately looking for someone who has hands on qualified optometrist experience. You will need to be GOC registered ideally with previous experience as a Pre-Reg Supervisor. You will naturally have a focus on leadership and a keen passion for developing others. You will be able to demonstrate collaboration and organisation enhanced by your technical knowledge.

You’ll have the ability to consult, partner, upskill, coach and mentor colleagues across the business so if you have a positive, people first and “can do” attitude this job could be for you!
